Google+ for Android and iOS gets a ton of new features, now supports communities and Photo Sphere

Google has updated the Google+ application for both iOS and Android, giving the latter slightly more features.

Now, Android users can take advantage of the full-size photo upload option in the Google+ app, allowing them to share images of up to 5GB.
The Photo Sphere feature is now fully supported in the Android version of the app as well. Granted, you’ll have to rock at least Android 4.2 to shoot Photo Spheres, but any Google+ user running Froyo and up will be able to enjoy them.
Google+ communities launched last week and they are now fully supported in the mobile G+ app. In addition, there’s now a wide array of emoticons and user-uploaded GIFs which could be used for birthday reminders in Google Now.
Hangouts have been tweaked too, and now Google claims the feature need just 150KB of bandwidth for a user to participate. Other little touches and addition include the ability to see who opened an invite on Google+ events or who has duplicated an event.
As for iOS users, the developers at Google have improved the photo viewing experience in the G+ app and have added support for Google+ communities and circle subscriptions. Finally, the user interface has been revamped to resemble that of its Android counterpart more closely.
Both the Android and iOS versions of the Google+ app are now available on Google Play and iTunes App Store, respectively.
